بالاخره ساخت هفتمین شماره بازی پر طرفدار CoD در تاریخ 31 آوریل 2010 از سوی کمپانی بزرک اکتیویژن تائید شد. بازی Call of Duty : Black Ops توسط شرکت بازی سازی Treyarch که نسخه پنجم بازی رو هم ساخته بود در حال توسعه هست. و بنا به گفته کمپانی ناشر یعنی Activision در تاریخ نهم نوامبر سال جاری بر روی کنسول های پلی استیشن 3 و ایکس باکس 360 و کامپیوتر عرضه خواهد شد. اطلاعات رسیده حاکی از در جریان بودن این بازی در مناطقی همچون کوبا و ویتنام و همچنین سرزمین های شمالی است. نسخه های پیشین که غیر از دو عنوان Modern Warfar همگی پیرامون رویداد جنگ جهانی بود که این بار قرار است یک تغییر اساسی در مورد جریان و رخداد های بازی شاهد باشیم.

مود های موجود در بازی
1- مود سینگل پلیر : توی این مود که در واقع داستان اصلی و روند بازی توی اون جریان داره گیمر ها می تونند یک تمرین نیز در درجه سختی های مختلف تجربه کنند. فعلا جزئیاتی پیرامون داستان و روند اون منتشر نشده فعلا در همین حد که بازی در سرزمین های شمالی آمریکای لاتین (کوبا) و البته ویتنام و در قالب جنگ سرد نیز در جریان هست معلوم شده
2- مود مولتی پلیر رقابتی : توی این مود در واقع با دوستانتون رقابت می کنید و یه حالت مقابل هم داره و شما با دوستانی که باهاشون دارید آنلاین یا شبکه بازی می کنید رقابت دارید. مثل مودی که توی MW هم وجود داشت و اکثرا بیشتر مراحل آنلاین اون در همین قالب در جریان بود
3- مود مولتی پلیر دسته جمعی یا Co-op : که توی نسخه WoW شکل جالب و کاملی از این مود رو کال آف خور ها تجربه کردند. توی این مود شما همراه دوستانتون در یک تیم و گروه هستید و بر علیه AI یا همون هوش مصنوعی cpu بازی قرار می گیرید و با هم پیش می رید و همدیگه رو حمایت می کنید. این مود در قسمت مود زامبی هم می تونه تلفیق بشه
